Museo del Galeón
Museo del Galeón, the first immersive maritime heritage museum in the Philippines and one of the largest in Southeast Asia, explores the region’s pivotal role in global maritime history through immersive storytelling and large-scale media experiences.
At the centre of the museum, suspended 24 metres above the floor, the Media Band encircles a full-scale reproduction of the Galeón Espíritu Santo — the seventeenth-century galleon constructed in Cavite in 1603 and a key vessel in the historic Manila–Acapulco trade route.
Created in collaboration with the museum Director and a team of historical experts, the seven-minute audiovisual experience unfolds across a monumental 188-metre-long curved screen.
Animated cartography, motion graphics, and immersive audiovisual content trace the evolution of maritime trade routes, revealing how the exchange of goods, ideas, culture, and power connected East and West across the Pacific for more than two centuries.
The project included the concept and production development and integration of the Media Band’s audiovisual experience and large-scale media content.
