This temporary show, designed and integrally executed by ACCIONA Cultura, puts together one of the best collections of Islamic calligraphy that later went on display in several museums throughout Europe. The show houses more than 100 objects from the Aga Khan Foundation, which places great value on the written word and art of calligraphy.

The design of the space, mysterious and elegant, the theatrical way in which they are illuminated make the pieces on display truly stand out for their beauty. It includes works on parchment, paper, textiles, ceramics and architectural elements creating a tour through the evolution of Islamic calligraphy.

As a uniting point between the past and present, the visitor can enjoy four digital manuscripts and interactives in one of the rooms. The original texts and translations of the works can be read page by page, and simultaneously are projected on a large scale over the walls of the room.
