Zayed National Museum
ACCIONA Cultura has been involved in the development of the Zayed National Museum, an iconic space dedicated to celebrating the history, culture, and values of the United Arab Emirates, as well as the legacy of the Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Located in the heart of the Saadiyat Cultural District, the museum is set to become a key cultural landmark in the region.
The museum features six permanent galleries. Among them, two standout spaces are led by ACCIONA Cultura:
- Our Beginning, which explores Sheikh Zayed’s life and values through an authentic and deeply human narrative.
- Through Our Nature, an immersive gallery that connects visitors with the country’s diverse natural landscapes and their influence on Emirati lifestyle.
ACCIONA Cultura is responsible for a wide range of services—from creative design and development to technical and museographic implementation—including the integration of cutting-edge interactive and audiovisual technologies.

For the Zayed National Museum, we reinterpreted historical photographs in a way that transcends print and becomes presence. We developed a technique using Corian® as a living surface, where each image was meticulously polished at different depths. When illuminated from behind, the light unveils the portrait.
We also translated the map of the UAE into a tactile surface — where geography becomes matter, and landscape takes form. We worked with alabaster as a material of nuance and precision. Each contour was carefully carved, allowing the natural character of the stone to define depth, boundaries, and presence. A landscape revealed through craft.
